 Mr. Anders joined Ajubita, Leftwich & Salzer as a special partner in March 2008. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Anders was a partner in the Business Practice Group at Montgomery, Barnett, Brown, Read, Hammond & Mintz, L.L.P. His practice is focused primarily on commercial litigation, environmental compliance and litigation, and business transactions. He has handled a wide variety of legal matters for commercial and individual clients, including representing a national commercial-finance company and obtaining a summary judgment dismissal of a plaintiff’s claim for return of fees associated with an $8.2 million commercial loan (reported in Commercial Lending Litigation News, September 2, 2004); representing a national manufacturing corporation and obtaining a summary judgment dismissal of claims filed under the Louisiana Products Liability Act; representing a national food-service company and its parent corporation in federal and state litigation based on alleged violations of federal and state environmental laws; representing a national gaming company in litigation arising out of an ad valorem tax assessment and in a dispute over ownership and management of company assets; representing a national gaming company in litigation based on alleged violations of the Family and Medical Leave Act and Title VII; representing employers and insurers in workers’ compensation and other employment-related disputes; counseling employers on compliance with various federal and state employment laws; and counseling employers on the drafting and interpretation of employment contracts and non-competition agreements.

 Mr. Anders is licensed to practice in both Louisiana and Texas. He has also been admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western districts of Louisiana. He is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas, the New Orleans Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, and the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel.

 Mr. Anders received his law degree from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University. He was named to the Law Center’s Chancellor’s List in the fall of 1998. Mr. Anders also received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Louisiana State University.

 In addition to receiving his law and bachelor’s degrees, Mr. Anders also received a Masters of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Finance from Baylor University’s Hankamer School of Business. While attending business school at Baylor, Mr. Anders was inducted as a graduate member of Omicron Delta Epsilon, an international honor society for economics.

Prior to attending law school, Mr. Anders worked in London as an assistant editor for a subsidiary of International Thomson Publishing.
